Turin Italy

Turin was Italy's first capital. It's considered a Baroque city due to it's large amount of XVII century buildings and monuments (Noteable for Guarino Guarini's and Fillippo Juvarra's).

Located at the crossing of three rivers (Po, Dora and Stura) the city offers the pleasant sight of the Alps Mountains to north-east and the gentle hills leading to the Po River to the south-west. Turin offers a charming choice of fluvial Parks.

In the last 15 years, coming from a heavy industrial past, has given raised to a very tourist city similar and comparable to Rome and Florence. Turin host a long list of prestigious events each year: the Salone del Gusto (Taste Exhibithion), the Salone del Libro (Book Exhibition), the Torino Film Festival just to name a few.

Borgata Tesso is a quite village with many shops, some bars, pubs and restaurants that have got the main advantage to be very close to Turin historic centre, the so called Quadrilatero Romano, a picturesque reticulate of small streets divided into contradas full of little shops and craftman's studio's in which is easy to run into medieval buildings.

The Anita Apartment is placed in the historic centre as know as Quadrilatero Romano that is the original square plan of the ancient Romans camp on which Turin developed in. The remains of its gates are still visible in the Porta Palatina and Porta Praetoria upon which has been raised the castle of Piazza Castello.
Next to the Porta Palatina takes place the characteristic and biggest European open air market of Porta Palazzo.

The apartment faces the inner courtyard of a 1700 vintage building and it's very quite.
In the surrounding streets a big variety of restaurants and nightspots can be found: you can choose for typical Piedmont food, for lots of ethnic ones or try the Apericena paying just the for the drinks and eating from a buffet.
The most tourist attractions as the Egyptian Museum, the Mole Antonelliana (seat of the Cinema Museum), the Palazzo Madama (seat of the Ancient Arts Museum), the Savoia's Royal Palace and Gardens, the Duomo (the cathedral) with its Guarino Guarini's baroque dome and and the Palazzo Carignano of Guarino Guarini (Museum of the Risorgimento and seat of the first italian parliament) are easily and shortly reachable by foot thanks to the wide pedestrian areas all around.
